It All Started with a Mitten and a Thermometer!

My very first book in the Uncovering Student Ideas series was published 16 years ago by NSTA. It all started with the “Mitten Problem”. It is hard to believe 16 years have passed and this series is still going strong, with second editions of the older books coming out. No wonder it is called the “Never Ending Book Series”. I never tire of hearing teachers describe how these books have transformed their teaching practice and engaged even the most reluctant students in sharing, defending, and working through their ideas. Currently there are 12 books in the series and I am working on a second volume of Uncovering Student Ideas in Life Science and Uncovering Student Ideas in Primary Science. What new books in the series would you like to see come out next? What are some concepts or phenomena you would like to see turned into a probe? What are some of your favorite probes?
